Bowled over by our prize draw
It was mid October when in the offices of High Grosvenor and Hard to Find Wines a pow-wow wine marketing meeting was taking place. Managing Director Mark was all excited by his ‘cricketing’ mail shot pitch ... based around England’s tour of South Africa. The only snag being he had his pads on early, the tour was a month away from starting .. amazing what a year with COVID constraints can do. He downed his bat to which hospitality manager Tim retrieved and said let’s run with this. A prize draw shall be spun out to our supporters.
Over a cup of coffee the prize was decided, a mixed case of wines revolving around our ‘wedding wine list’ with the highlight being The First XI Belter. Yes you’ve guessed it, a cricket hitting wine with Rhone style from South Africa produced by Faf Du Plessis and A B De Villiers backed up by multi award winning wine maker and chum Wynland Groblaar.
A month of promoting led to many names added to our mailing list, minutes before the first ball was bowled on 27th November MD Mark had the honour of picking a winner from the 100 or more names placed in the oversized champagne flute. Rachel Holland was the grateful winner. For those wondering what happened to Mark's original mail shot? It was bowled out to HTFW’s mailing list to such a fantastic strike rate we sold out online within hours.
